The Bar is Finally Open!

In 2008, wow - it's been that long. In 2008 I knocked a lovely hole in the wall between the kitchen and living room. I thought it would open it up (and wanted to watch tv while cooking). There's always ulterior motives, right?

Then in 2009 (or '10, it's been so long I forget now) Kenneth got me a lovely chunk of rough cut cedar to build a bar with. It was to match the mantle (as seen above) and would fit in the nice new opening.

But I couldn't just put a rectangle piece o

f lumber in the hole - oh no, that would be way too easy. So, I came up with a plan of how it needed to be cut here and notched there. Seeing as how this is 4"x12" cedar not just any saw will cut what I wanted to cut.

To the point - my wonderful friend Bob was able to cut just what I needed and FINALLY - the bar is open. It looks like we knew what we were doing. I've got a sealer that I need to put on but other than that it's up. And it only took 3 years!

Kenny got some rabbit ears from Summer Fun - He put them on and said "I'm a happy rabbit"

Then he turned them upside down and said "I'm a sad rabbit". I thought that was creative... and cute!

Broken Fibula!!!

It took 30 years but I finally broke a bone. While sliding into first I landed with my foot pointing the wrong direction and SNAP! After a trip to Med Center they confirmed that yes, my leg was broken. So no summer ball and I'll be with a splint and crutches for a few weeks.

Why was I sliding into first you ask? I got a hit to the outfield and rounded first when they threw it towards home. I was going to go to second when the pitcher cut off the throw and threw it to second. So I got in a rundown between the bases. I was closer to first so when she threw it there I tried to slide but being turned sideways I was in no position for sliding.

Here is my x-ray confirming the "non-displaced" fracture. I will go see an orthopedic doctor after the swelling goes down in a few days.

Kenny sells the "snuggie"

One day Kenny asked me if I knew what a snuggie was. Wanting to hear his idea of what it was I said "No, can you tell me about it..." This is what I got
