RIP Maverick

Yesterday we lost one of the best cats ever.  Maverick was with us just over 4 years and never did anything wrong.  He was always cute and sweet... so here's the best of Mr. Maverick P. Catenbird.

The first day we brought him home.  He really picked us.  When we were deciding on what cat to adopt (Kenneth wanted Mav from the beginning) they brought 2 cats to Petsmart. The other cat ran and hid under a cage and Maverick came right up to me, rubbed on my leg, and purred.

Maverick was always very squeaky.  He decided that he loved canned cat food (which he had never had before) and wanted to do everything that big brother Nox did.  This was him telling me that he was ready for more food.

Where's Maverick?  Probably on something of Kenny's.  Kenny's bed, Kenny's snuggie, Kenny's backpack, Kenny's coat.  Mav loved Kenny!

So much so that he even helped Kenny with his homework!

Again, trying to be just like Nox.  So, the paw goes here and the tail goes here...

Flop on the floor...And scratch on things we're not supposed to... show attitude!  Is is working?  Am I like Nox yet?

Mav is a meme!
I'll see your grumpy cat and raise you a happy cat!

Mckayla is not impressed, neither is Maverick.

They think Mav had FIP, for which there is no for sure diagnosis, cure, or treatment.  This is after he got sick and was getting better.  He looked so cute with the bow!

Mav on his favorite Eagles blanket.

We had a special trip with Mav over Christmas.  Nox was getting radioactive iodine and had to stay at the vet so Mav went to grandma's house with us.  He loved it.  Lots of people to meet that would pet him.  He was so happy, friendly, and seemed to be doing so good!

I think this is how I'll always remember him.  This was last week when he was napping on the couch.  Purring loud, and with that smile.

Yesterday saying goodbye.  He was really weak but purred until the end. We'll miss you Mav!

Good job Kenny!

Looks like Kenny helped his (girl)friend out at school.
